About Our School

The Natalia Kremen Ballet School

Since opening in 2012, for many of our students our NKBS studios have become a home away from home, where lifelong friendships are formed and treasured. We are very proud to have built a truly unique and caring community of students and teachers who inspire and motivate one another towards excellence, creativity and artistry.

The NK Method and Syllabus

Our school syllabus is a unique syllabus, which incorporates elements of the Vaganova, French, Cuban and English techniques - following our founder’s extensive collaborations with ballet masters from around the world - that develops a well-rounded and technically accurate, safe, self-regulated and versatile dancer. We have 18 different levels at our school with their own uniquely designed programme, which has been created based on each student’s age, ability and ambitions. Our method aims to support the gradual progression of our students - which will be discussed with you directly with our school director and founder of our syllabus, Natalia Kremen.

School Philosophy

The mission of our team of highly qualified and experienced teachers, is to provide a safe, nurturing yet challenging learning environment for all of our students. Our love for children and ballet is the reason the school first opened, and the reason we remain open to this day. It is our duty to be committed to the families we serve, while we strive to give parents the reassurance that their child is in the care of the most knowledgeable, caring, and genuinely passionate ballet teachers, each and every day. We believe that children deserve to feel special, unique, valued, respected and challenged. It is our goal to bring out the best in each child for them to thrive in all areas of life, in their technically abilities, as well as in their emotions and creativity. They deserve to participate in experiences that will change their lives forever and NKBS does its best to promise to provide the environment to make this come true!

School Ethos

At NKBS we believe each child has the potential to bring something unique and special into the world. By having a respectful and caring bond with both the student and the family, we, as a school, are able to create a strong foundation for a wonderful early childhood for our students. Through the active exploration of dance, and what dance grows to mean to them in their lives, whether it becomes a passion, a career, or a place in which they feel values, supported and have goals as well as an opportunity to find friends for life and always feel at home, it is our goal to be able to nurture and assist our student's achieve their individual aspirations through the world of NKBS.

Achievements

Through the support and training at NKBS, many of our students have and gone onto study at some of the most prestigious ballet academies around the world, including the Royal Ballet School, Vaganova Ballet Academy, Bolshoi Ballet Academy, Dutch National Ballet Academy, English National Ballet School, National Ballet School of Cuba and the American Ballet Theatre's JKO School to name a few. In 2014 and 2016, our NKBS students were invited to perform with the Bolshoi and Mariinsky ballet companies on the stage of the Royal Opera House. In 2022, our NKBS graduate was invited to perform with the Dutch National Ballet Company’s production of Swan Lake. For many of our graduates who chose to keep ballet as their passion, rather than their career, we are proud to say that they have continued to carry the lessons and qualities that were learned through our school, as they now enter into many of the world’s leading educational institutions, such as Oxford, Cambridge and other universities.

Supporting Us

As a self-funded private school, we are always looking for ways on how we can continue to enhance our students' learning experience with us. Post-pandemic, many private schools including NKBS, has suffered from a loss of resources, and as a result, would welcome any support towards the school (perhaps donating a previously loved piano, any excess sports equipment, or through providing help in the refurbishment of our studios, or even a donation towards our bursary program). Every little truly helps. Please contact us at info@nkballetschool.com with your interest/ideas.
